Common questions

Do I need a BER to sell or rent a house in Ireland?

Yes. A BER certificate is required by law when a home is offered for sale or rent in Ireland, and the rating must appear in the advertising. New homes need one before they are occupied.

Who can carry out a BER?

Only an SEAI-registered assessor can carry out a BER and publish the certificate on the SEAI National Register. Austin Kielty of ASK Consultants is an SEAI-registered Domestic BER Assessor based in Elphin, Co. Roscommon.

How much does a BER cost?

Every home is different, so Austin quotes each job individually rather than working from a price list. Send the property details or call 086 238 4520 for a quote.
